Council is creating a new Economic Development and Tourism Strategy 2035 (ED&TS) that will help establish priorities and create a plan to grow the Shoalhaven economy.
The strategy identifies key opportunities, objectives, and actions focused on revitalising the CBD, diversifying retail offerings, boosting employment and workforce participation, enhancing tourism infrastructure, and increasing visitor numbers and spending.
The ten-year strategic document will replace Council’s existing, Economic Development Strategy 2017 – 2026 and Destination Management Plan 2018 – 2023, which are both due for renewal.
The community will be invited to review the existing documents and provide feedback that will help inform the new strategy, and can provide initial and early feedback by completing the online survey on this webpage.
Industry leaders and business representatives will also be invited to participate in the separate, business survey on this webpage, and attend targeted workshops to discuss Shoalhaven’s economic development and tourism priorities. Business owners and managers who wish to attend a workshop are requested to register by Friday 3rd October by emailing business@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.
The new ED&TS 2035 will support other key Council plans including the Community Strategic Plan 2032 and will provide direction for Council’s annual Delivery Program Operational Plan (DPOP), Budget, and the setting of any fees and charges.
Head to the Get Involved page on Council’s website to stay informed about upcoming engagement activities and keep across project updates.
