Help Shape the Future of Community Infrastructure in Shoalhaven

The Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP) is one of Council’s biggest strategies and is now under review.

With more than 600 open space and community facilities across the Shoalhaven, Council is asking the community what they want from the buildings, parks, pools, sportsgrounds and playgrounds in their neighbourhoods.

The Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP) is one of Council’s biggest strategies and is now under review. The CISP establishes a 30-year vision for community facilities and open spaces to help guide short, medium and long-term planning and investment.

Mayor Patricia White said the review gathers data on how, why and when people use community facilities which contribute to the region’s liveability.

“We want to hear from everyone – sporting groups, mums and dads, community consultive bodies, special interest groups, seniors, young people, people with disabilities and their carers,” CR White said.

The review is being led by Council’s Open Space and Recreation Planning team, and will assess a broad range of facilities and open spaces, including:

  • Aquatic, leisure and indoor sports centres
  • Sportsgrounds and sports courts
  • Parks and play spaces (including foreshore and marine facilities)
  • Public halls and community centres
  • Cultural & entertainment facilities

A comprehensive engagement activity has been launched to better understand how people use and value these spaces and facilities. Feedback received during this campaign will inform recommendations for over 600 in-scope facilities and ensure that the plan reflects the needs of all stakeholders – now and into the future.

Have your say by completing the surveys:

  • Survey 1 asks about what you value most in open space and community facilities.
  • Survey 2 is an opportunity to provide feedback on specific facilities (follow the instructions to choose the facility you would like to provide feedback on to make sure your survey counts).

Each of the surveys should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

Surveys will remain open until 30 June 2025.
