Information for businesses impacted by May Flooding

Support and guidance to help with recovery

Businesses can stay informed and access practical guidance through the NSW Government’s central hub for Flood recovery updates. This includes information on returning safely to flood-affected areas, what to do with waste and accessing Recovery Centres and Evacuation Centres.

For those facing urgent needs, Health and welfare support is in place to provide emergency accommodation, food, medical supplies, connections to social services and support for landholders needing urgent animal welfare assistance.

Small businesses may be eligible for support after a natural disaster. Information on financial loans is available on Financial support for businesses and primary producers.

The Commission also has a range of guides to help businesses prepare for and recover from disaster. This includes a quick-reference guide to recovery, a comprehensive recovery toolkit and tips for making an insurance claim (make sure to take clear photos of all damage and damaged items before starting any clean-up).

For those involved in retail and commercial leasing, it’s important to understand your legal rights and responsibilities following a natural disaster. Find out more about retail and commercial leasing rights.
