The Regional Event Accelerator Program is officially rolling out. This program is designed to empower organisers like you with targeted skills, practical resources, and valuable connections to elevate your event’s reach, sustainability, and impact.
Destination Sydney Surround South is now inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from eligible events. Please review the eligibility criteria, program outline, and key dates carefully and submit your response to the criteria questions by COB Monday 20th January 2025.
Program Benefits
Participants will gain access to:
- Hands-On Skills and Resources: Templates, tools, and resources to streamline event planning and management.
- Strategic Event Guidance: Best practices in succession planning, volunteer engagement, financial planning, and risk mitigation.
- Collaboration and Networking: Opportunities to connect with other event organisers in the region to share insights and foster collaboration.
- Insights on Industry Trends: Updates on visitor engagement strategies, tourism impact, and event marketing trends.
This program is ideal for volunteer event coordinators, local government event staff, new event organisers, and students involved in regional tourism-focused events with potential for growth.
Eligibility Criteria
This program is open to events that currently support, or have the potential to support, visitor economy outcomes for the Destination Sydney Surrounds South NSW region.
To be eligible, your event must:
- Have a formal business structure (e.g., Association, Co-operative, Partnership, Sole Trader).
- Fit into one of the following categories:
- An existing event, or series of events, that currently attracts visitors to the region.
- An existing community event, or series of events, with the potential to evolve and attract visitors.
- A new event concept with an existing detailed concept plan and the potential to become a destination event or series.
Please note:
- A total of 14 event spots are available.
- Multiple organisers from the same event team can participate.
