Tourism Marketing Campaigns – August

From media in the area to events and collaborations, August has been big across Shoalhaven and there are no signs of slowing down.

The team has been working on the Travel Guide for 2025 and we are sold out of all advertising space – thanks legends! Content is being created as we speak and will be with you in December, and artwork and images are due by the end of this month. If you have any questions regarding your ad, please reach out to tourismmarketing@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.

Working within this year’s theme of ‘New, Well-Reviewed & Great Views’ we’ve seen a massive uptake in our Winter Foodie Campaign, we’ve had media in town from Sydney and Melbourne, with more lined up to visit in the coming weeks. National publications like Australian Traveller and Stayz featuring locations and experiences across Shoalhaven, covering walks, waterfalls, accommodation and everything in between, as well as multi-page spreads in print publications including Wellbeing magazine.

Forward bookings across the region are showing an increase in people booking ahead from September onwards compared to any other year back to 2019 so we are hoping for a tops peak season. You might see some fun changes to the 100 Beach Challenge soon too so keep an eye out.

We’ve got restaurants, producers, distillers, makers and growers combining forces throughout September to bring a whole host of brilliant events showcasing all that is wonderful about Shoalhaven. Whether you’re wanting to wander along the white sandy beaches as part of a multi-course degustation with Coastal Forage, or if you’re seeking to explore the villages and surrounding farmlands with Meet the Makers Festival, there are events to help you see (and taste) the very best the South Coast has to offer.

As well as making sure that you’re business, event or product is listed on shoalhaven.com, with NSW Business Awards now open as well as DNSW-driven initiatives like the Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard open for applications, having an up-to-date Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) listing is vital. If you need a hand updating this, be sure to reach out to our Visitor Services team at tourism@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.

Our in-house photographer and videographer are on the road, collecting images and stories throughout the region. If you’d like to be involved in our Shoalhaven Stories series, or are looking to capture the essence of your business through imagery, please reach out to the team at tourismmarketing@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.
