Tourism Marketing Campaigns – September

The days are longer, the temperature (and water) is warmer - Spring has well and truly sprung across Shoalhaven. With events, media and Top Town Awards, there's plenty happening.

The days are longer, the temperature (and water) is warmer – Spring has well and truly sprung across Shoalhaven. With the warmer weather, we’ve seen our Foodie Campaign continue to gain traction with journalists and creators visiting from across the country, as well as internationally. Events celebrating the local scene have been abundant, drawing visitors from across the region as well as further afield.

After taking out the title at the state level, Huskisson was awarded Gold in the Tiny Town category at the Top Tourism Towns Awards in Canberra. Only open to towns with populations of up to 1,500, there was plenty of competition across the country. Check out the winning itinerary and video here.

It’s not only towns winning gold – multiple Shoalhaven businesses have been recognised at the Illawarra Business Awards over the weekend. Jack Dinnie from Bumpy Road Catering Events took home gold as the Outstanding Young Business Leader, while Silos Estate won the Excellence in Tourism & Hospitality category. Cupitt’s Estate have retained their 5-Star Rating in the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Australian Wine Companion, Bangalay Dining has taken out top place in the ‘Restaurant in a Hotel/Resort and LEAF in NOWRA has received the number one position in ‘Family Dining’ at the 2024 Restaurant & Catering Association Hostplus Awards for Excellence for Sydney and Regional NSW. Congratulations!

As we head into the busy summer season, be sure to take a moment to update your information on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) so that your business is represented properly on shoalhaven.com. We have photography and videography services available to businesses across the Shoalhaven, so please reach out if your imagery needs updating.

The 2025 Shoalhaven Travel Guide is nearing its final stages, with advertising locked in and content being finalised. With 80,000 copies due to be printed and distributed across Shoalhaven, as well as further afield to Visitor Information Centres across the state and country. Take a look at the 2024 guide here.
