Tourism Marketing Update – August 2025

Winter has seen the cloudy days and cool weather, but it has also brought with it wonderful way to explore the Shoalhaven with fewer crowds, well-deserved awards and successful marketing campaigns.

Winter has seen the cloudy days and cool weather, but it has also brought with it wonderful way to explore the Shoalhaven with fewer crowds. Our annual food campaign has centered around  Wine, Whales and Foodie trails, celebrating local produce, wonderful wineries and the awe-inspiring migration of whales and their calves along the Shoalhaven coastline.

In addition, the Go GRAND campaign has been in market via the Grand Pacific Drive channels, with the landing page receiving huge amounts of engagement and driving high levels of leads to businesses throughout the region. There’s still time to get involved and make the most of the campaign by using the images and hashtags as part of your own social schedules. You can find the toolkit here.

Awards season is well and truly here, with many Shoalhaven businesses being recognised for their hard work throughout the year at local, state and national levels. Congratulations to all!

The Tourism Marketing team are working on the 2026 edition of the Shoalhaven Travel guide, and are on the lookout for a cover photo. With 80,000 copies printed in 2025 and distributed throughout the region and across the state, the reach of the publication is huge. We love working with local creatives so if you’ve got an image you’d like to submit, we’d love to hear from you. Please email us at tourismmarketing@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au. There are still a few advertising spaces left, so please reach out if you’ve got a last minute addition.

Huskisson won NSW’s Top Tiny Tourism Town earlier this year, and is now in the running for the title at a national level. We’ll be heading to Parliament House in September to find out.

Destination Sydney Surround South are setting their calendars for the rest of the year, and have some amazing capacity building events coming up- be sure to keep your eyes peeled, and be sure to get involved.
