Wellness is now a trillion dollar industry, ‘Slow Down Towns’ are topping the list for travellers looking to escape the hustle and bustle and Western Sydney Airport is set to open within the year. Destination NSW’s annual forum was held earlier in the month November 2025, with the theme ‘NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035 – Vision to Action’, and covered all this and more.
Following the release of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2035 earlier this year, the annual NSW Visitor Economy Forum 2025 saw the document brough to life. With more than 450 industry leaders, government partners and innovators attending from across the state, there was a clear focus on regional, agri and wellness tourism, which means the future is looking bright for Shoalhaven. If you missed out on attending, the Visitor Economy Forum Digital Hub has a whole host of useful documents to help you learn more about how the Strategy’s bold roadmap will make it easier for people to visit the state, elevate the NSW and Sydney brands, drive growth through events, deliver immersive visitor experiences and leverage data and insights.
Keeping on events, Destination Sydney Surround South have had a busy calendar heading into the end of the calendar year, holding a brilliant AgriTourism workshop at Moonacres School in Robertson, and have their Deep Dive into International – Trade-Ready Workshop & Networking Event scheduled at Berry’s Linnaeus Farm for next week to help operators gear up for 2026 with clear strategies to reach new markets.
Bundanon Art Museum is inviting industry to experience their new collection as part of their summer networking event on Wednesday 3 December from 2.30-4.30pm, while also allowing businesses and events organisers from across the region to connect before the peak season truly arrives.
November is NSW Wine Month, and the perfect reminder to shop local for the upcoming holidays. We’ve seen many of our wonderful wineries step up with collaborations as well as on- and off-site events to celebrate wine across the state, and help consumers understand the strength of the wineries and winemakers here in NSW.
The tourism team have been busily finalising the 2026 Travel Guide and sending it off to print, with hard copies due in time for Christmas, and a digital version available a little earlier for those after a sneak peak – keep your eyes on the website and socials for more announcements.
As we prepare for the summer season, a reminder to ensure that your digital presence is up to date with correct contact numbers, web and social links and opening hours across Google, ATDW and social media.
